Overview

Mountain Hollow is an intricate set of caves located in Prescott, Arizona. These caves were carved into the side of a mountain in the heart of the Granite Mountains, and have served as a meeting place for druids in the southwestern United States for hundreds of years. Located within the caves is a Nemeton - an old, fully grown tree that never wilts nor dies - that acts as a beacon to the supernatural, drawing them to the surrounding area because of its attributes. The object almost feels sentient, and it's said that if a druid were to touch it, they may just be able to communicate with it. It's a major source of druidic power as well, power from the earth itself.

Where it’s located

Outside of Prescott within the side of a large mountain chain known as the granite mountains is where you can find Mountain Hollow. The path to its entrance is covered with trees and shrubbery. It is hard to find if one is not either a Druid or another supernatural creature. Many people mention how they seemed to get weirdly turned around while wandering within that area. They also talk about how animals behave weirdly as they drew near, making wary travelers stay back. Animals are often drawn to the pure power of nature that the caves emit and their behavior a direct result of the nemeton warding off potential threats.

Who runs it

While there is no single individual in charge of taking care of the Nemeton, there are a few druids that frequent the caves within Mountain Hollow to make sure the tree stays prospering. Power must be put into the Nemeton in order for there to be an output of power, and the druid population that lives within the area works together to keep things running. One young druidess in particular, Eve Lorraine, has managed to maintain a deep connection with the nemeton.

How it works

Gatherings done here were usually orchestrated by one or more druid families closest to the Nemeton. The Nemeton would act as a beacon; druids with great control over their abilities could use the Nemeton to call other families within the region there. More often than not, these meetings were of utmost importance. Druids have always been the sort of guardians or overseers of the supernatural world. It was their duty to maintain balance between the normal and paranormal.

Meetings do not have to be called in order for a druid to visit Mountain Hollow, however. If they know where it is, they can come along whenever they like. The Nemetom must be kept in shape as well. A druid may offer "sacrifices" to the Nemeton, though it is usually their own power they are giving. Giving to the Nemetom is almost always beneficial, as the Nemeton will give back twice as much as what is put in. A Druid with a strong connection to the Nemeton can use it to locate and monitor other druids and supernatural people within the state.
