ARIZONA Tri-city

Overview

While we are an open world RGP, it might make it a lot easier on yourself if your character is close to the others. The Tri-City area is a location for your characters to have enough freedom to roam as they wish, but still stay within close enough range to one another to realistically meet up in a short amount of time. When most think of Arizona, they may not realize that the state is much more than just endless deserts. It actually has a wide variety of different terrains and locations to explore.

In addition, each of the three locations feature places of interest; potential locations your characters may frequent for recreational or plot related reasons. These locations are mainly to give members ideas for a possible settings when they roleplay!

Please take a look at the three options bellow. Some locations may be preferred by certain supernatural species but you are still free to have your characters live wherever you wish! It doesn't have to be contained to any of these three cities. This setting is open to all whether you are an Active or Casual member!

Phoenix is the largest populated city in the state of Arizona as well as its capital. It is located within Maricopa County and over 1 million people call this metropolitan area home. With a population density of 2797.8 people per square mile and a booming tourism industry, vampires living in Arizona love to prowl around here for any easy targets. The city is so big, who would notice if maybe a few people went missing here and there, right?

Though its topography is generally flat, low mountain ranges can be found scattered both in and around the city. Among otherwise undeveloped desert, the city’s outskirts are home to large fields of cropland and Native American Reservations. With the Salt River running westward through Phoenix, the city sits within the northeastern reaches of the Sonoran Desert, and boasts a hot desert climate; the winters are mild with very hot summers. Sunny weather is virtually non-stop throughout the year with very little rain fall. On top of that, Phoenix receives the most sunshine of any major city on Earth.

Prescott is a small city located northwest of Phoenix, just south of the Granite Dells, and sits within the Yavapai County. Within The Granite Dells are Watson and Willow Lakes, which are two small, man-made reservoirs. Through there, a number of hiking trails connect to the Peavine Trail that goes from Prescott to Phoenix. The Peavine Trail is known for its twisting and windings, subsequently reminding those that named it of the vines that peas grow on.

The city itself sports a Mediterranean-esque climate, being very wet during the Spring and Summers, and quite warm. Unlike most other locations in this climate class, there is actually a wet season due to the North American Monsoons in the area. During the winter, there may be snow, though it usually melts quickly Surrounding the city are mountains, and it has many woodsy and forested areas, perfect for druids wanting to live a peaceful and quiet life. In fact, the druid community is quite large in Prescott, with family lines dating back hundreds of years.

Flagstaff is located north of Phoenix and is home to a small population of werewolves. The city features a bustling downtown full of life and an active cultural scene. This  includes multiple weekend festivals throughout the year, a college, and a great expanse of wilderness on all sides. The thick pine trees allow for miles of open space to run and be wild without the worry of being spotted by humans! The area is surrounded by mountains, dry grassy plains, and vast forests. The city itself sits on a mountain surrounded by dormant volcanoes. It's the perfect for those that enjoy an array of outdoor activities but also don't mind being near a good restaurant or two!

Flagstaff is considered high desert and has a rather dry semi-continental climate. It has five distinct seasons: a cold and snowy winter; a dry and windy spring with occasional snows; a very dry and warm early summer from May to early July; a wet monsoon season from July to early September; and a dry and pleasant fall which lasts until the first snows. Winters can be particularly heavy to the point where people are stranded in the city for a few days. The rest of the year is usually mild but can get hot.
